Syn.: Trimmatothele maritima (B. de Lesd.) Zahlbr., incl. L. maritima var. nigricans B. de Lesd.

This species has been described on marl and brick in dunes in France: Mar. by BDL1: 259-260, but no material seems to exist anymore (Ertz & Diederich 2004). The status of this taxon can only be assessed when fresh material of the same species becomes available.
