Syn.: Arthopyrenia alba (Schrad.) Zahlbr., A. sphaeroides (Wallr.) Zahlbr.

Corticolous, on old trunks of Acer, Fraxinus, Populus, Quercus and Tilia, rarely on Fagus, usually in stable and rather humid forests.
